Bicycle tires and tubes

I’ve had a terrible run with flats on my road bike. I’ve had approximately 8 flats in the last 2 months and gone through 2 brand new tires. The tires show zero signs of cuts, burrs or anything that can cause flats. I’ve even had the experts at Jones Precision Wheels inspect the rims and tires.

Very frustrating.

I’ve used Continental Grand Prix4000s II for years and really like them even though they are super expensive. I’ve been using Bontrager tubes during this period.

My hunch is that the last batch of 4 tires I bought recently are duds. The third of the pack has managed 80 miles in the last two days without failing. I suspect that the Bontrager tubes are no good. I’ve switched the Specialized with another batch on the way.
